Company founding
1973
Fritz Schmutz founded Carpentry Schmutz. The main activities are the assembly of prefabricated kitchens and general interior construction work
Expansion
1982
The carpentry workshop, warehouse and bank room are being expanded.
Restructuring
Major restructurings: The new building will be used for production and the old part as a warehouse and surface treatment room.
Computer-controlled machines
The first computer-controlled machines are being acquired. From that point on, the Schmutz carpentry could independently manufacture kitchen furniture.
Transition
Fritz Schmutz remains loyal to his founded carpentry workshop and continues to be active in customer acquisition. The two sons Anatol and David Schmutz are on the way to taking over the business.
New AG
The sole proprietorship Schreinerei Fritz Schmutz is being converted into Schreinerei Schmutz AG. Anatol and David now take over 100% of the management and leadership of the AG.
Complete takeover
The AG will be transferred completely to the two sons.
Fritz Schmutz has therefore also resigned from the board of directors.
Digitalization is moving into the Schmutz AG carpentry shop
2019
The entire planning software is being replaced and a new machine is being purchased. From now on, work will be continuous. The plans are sent directly to the machines. Bills of materials and many time-consuming processes are completely eliminated.
Another milestone
2026
The old carpentry workshop is being sold to the company Belli AG. At the same time, we will move into the new, large hall in August 2026. This enables us to have an optimized production with more efficient processes and also provides a large, dust-free storage space.
